How tuition and aid work

The school gives its figures at a visit, so you never read an old one.

  • Tuition is set by the year and by the room a child is in. Extended day and early arrival are billed apart, by the month, for the days a family uses. The school gives its figures at every visit and in the enrollment packet.

  • Registration

A family pays an application fee when it applies, which covers reading the application and the visit with the child. After an offer there is an enrollment fee that holds the place. Each is listed, with its purpose, below.

    • Application: when a family applies

    • Enrollment: when an offer is accepted

  • Holding a place

A signed enrollment agreement and the first payment hold a place, and the first payment goes toward tuition. A family has about two weeks to answer an offer. When a room is full we keep a waitlist and call families in the order they applied.

  • Billing

Tuition is billed by the year, by the term or by the month, whichever the family chooses at enrollment. Autopay is available through the school's online system.

  • Financial aid is available; here is how to apply. After you submit an application, the office sends an aid form. A small committee reads each form and answers when admissions decisions go out. Ask the office about state programs for families who may qualify.

  • Siblings

A second child, or a third, is handled differently, and the office will explain how when you apply. Brothers and sisters are read in the same admissions season so a family hears about everyone at once.

  • Withdrawing

We ask for a month's written notice before a child leaves. What happens to a term in progress is set out in the enrollment agreement, and the office goes through it with you at enrollment.

  • Other costs

Materials and supplies, field trips, and extended day are the costs beyond tuition. Each is listed, with what it is for, below, and the office gives the figures at a visit.
